The Michigan Street African American Heritage Corridor (MSAAHC) is proud to announce the unveiling of a new marker honoring the legacy of Mary B. Talbert, a pioneering civil rights leader, suffragist, and activist, on Wednesday, Sept. 17, 2025, at 2:30 PM. The new marker will stand as a lasting tribute to her impact on Buffalo, the nation, and the world.

Citizen Journalism as Tools of Democracy, in collaboration with the Buffalo Association of Black Journalists (BABJ), is dedicated to achieving expanded and more balanced media coverage of minorities and increasing minority representation at both staff and management levels in Western New York.

Join members of BABJ in a discussion about telling our own stories on Thursday, Sept. 18th 6-8PM (Visitor Center 136 Broadway).
