Community Archaeology Days
Michigan Street Baptist Church

Black history matters. The Michigan Street Baptist Church has been a hub of abolitionist and progressive action for the past 175 years. To uncover this history, the Buffalo Niagara Freedom Station Coalition owners of the  Michigan Street Baptist Church, will be hosting community archeological digs in partnership with the University at Buffalo’s Archaeological Survey Department of Anthropology, and the Michigan Street African American Heritage Corridor

Join us throughout September at the Michigan Street Baptist Church to help get your hands dirty & discover history! Activities include demonstrations on how to perform archaeological surveys, information for students looking to get into the field of archeology, and presentations from project leads.
