Conquer the Soil: An Evening of Stories with Abra Lee

Join us for an evening of stories with Abra Lee, horticulturist, educator, and author of the forthcoming book Conquer The Soil: Black America and the Untold Stories of Our Country’s Gardeners, Farmers, and Growers.

Her work is centered on unearthing what she refers to as “love stories” on the richness of United States garden history and culture. Her work has been featured in The New York Times, Fine Gardening, Veranda Magazine, and NPR. Lee is a graduate of Auburn University College of Agriculture and an alumna of the Longwood Gardens Society of Fellows, a global network of public horticulture professionals.

The program will take place at the Michigan Street African American Heritage Corridor at 132 Broadway Avenue, Buffalo, NY 14203. Lee will share stories from 5:30 - 6:30pm with a light reception to follow.
