Training Sessions
Coming Spring of 2023!

Do you love history and meeting new people? Being a docent for the Michigan Street African American Heritage Corridor Commission might be the perfect role for you! When you volunteer to become a docent for the Corridor, you will be one of our many ambassadors that share the legacy and passion of the Corridor with our visitors!

Our six-week program will begin on March 4, 2023 from 9:00 AM - 12:00 PM  and run every Saturday. It will give you all the tools necessary to become an amazing docent. Each week you will learn about one of our Founding Cultural Anchors and be given tips and techniques to give engaging tours.

After completing the five-week program, docents will have to give a Graduation Docent Tour to a Master Docent. Once the program is completed, docents are expected to give at least one tour a month.

No tour experience necessary, just a passion for local history and heritage!

Being a docent for the Michigan Street African American Heritage Corridor commission is a fun, exciting, and social experience!
